Craft is the realest
The great thing about working on your craft is — your craft always treats you the way you treat it. Work more, it rewards you. Take a break, you get rusty. Come back, it doesn’t immediately give you your skills back. But show your love again, and it slowly loves you back. The more you sacrifice for it, the more it allows you to become the “best” at something.
People, well, that’s a different story. They come with biases. You work hard, they might not care. You don’t care, they might be after you — plotting, scheming, taking things just because they despise you. Of course, there are good people too.
But with craft, it’s different. It’s vanilla. Straight up. No misdirection, no false belief. You do it again because it pulls you. It does not need you.
The craft, at the end of the day, is truth. Even the people you trust the most have a non-zero chance to falter. But craft is absolute.
